The Musician is what we like to call a ballsy wine! I like to compare this to an Australian prop in Rugby Union – Big, meaty and punchy! This wine, with these qualities, means that inevitably the alcohol content in this wine is also very high. If you don’t know alcohol content in a wine is strongly correlated to the temperature where the wine is grown. Think of the coolness of northern France compared to the blistering heat of Coonawarra in South Australia.

Although the alcohol content is strong you don’t feel the hit as much as you think. The wonderfully smooth dark berry fruits cover this sensation on the nose and once this wine hits the palate the vanilla and banana you get great longevity.
